Joshua Bans Cruise Review

Young Joshua - the Budding Cruise Journalist

Young Joshua Banks (age 11) from Galston had such a fantastic time on a recent Royal Caribbean cruise with his family, that he emailed Stewart Travel to tell them how great cruising is for kids.

Delighted to receive Joshua's feedback on cruising, Scotland's Cruise Centre sent his email to their Royal Caribbean Account Manager, Andrew Bolton.

Royal Caribbean were so impressed by Joshua's review that they will be featuring him in future marketing campaigns.  As a reward for his efforts Joshua and his family were also invited to be VIP guests at the launch of their brand new ship, Independence of the Seas.

Joshua and EmilyScotland's Cruise Centre staff member Emily Plunkett was also lucky enough to be at the launch and joined Joshua with his family onboard Independence in Southampton on 26th April.

Here is Joshua's report:

I tried out everything!  When we arrived we had lunch in the Windjammer Restaurant then I went up to the Sports Deck to try out the Flowrider surf pool.  It was great fun! We had a game of crazy golf before I shot a few hoops in a game of basketball with another few boys I met.

There was a great ice show in the afternoon then we had a walk along the shopping mall.  I managed to fit in a few stops for American cookies from Ben & Jerry's along the way!

At five o'clock there was a concert with famous band Scouting For Girls which was excellent.  I even got the lead singers autograph and a photo.

In the evening I dressed up for dinner and enjoyed a sirloin steak...  my favourite!  I then went for a look at the kids club which was fantastic, there were lots of computers and playstations but I was too busy to stay and try them out.  We had great fun in the games arcade then it was off to the night time show called "Under the Big Top".  It had clowns, acrobats and lots of singing.

If all that wasn't enough I then watched a 70's themed parade just before midnight then it was off to bed. We had a brilliant big room with a balcony and a plasma TV!

I had a super time onboard Independence and I certainly won't forget my experience.  Now I can't wait  for my next cruise onboard Navigator of the Seas in the summer.

Joshua Banks.
