Arrecife

Capital of Portugal and site of the 1998 European Expo, Lisbon sits on the banks of the Tagus River and is a lively and colourful city possessing distinctive character and charm. The Torre de Belem is one of Lisbon's most famous sights and consists of a white stone tower, built in the early 16th century to defend the river. The legendary Tram 28 is a tourist attraction in itself, and vintage trams still ply the well-worn route from the city centre on sea level, right up through the jumble of streets towards the heights of the Castelo de Sao Jorge (Castle of St George).

Tunis
Located on a protected bay off on the north east coast, Tunisia's lively capital reflects an intriguing fusion of two cultures. The 8th century Great Mosque and several museums in town are worth a look including the Dar Ben Abdallah, housing a beautiful collection of costumes and the Bardo Museum, displaying a vibrant collection of Roman mosaics and tapestries. Also visit the Thermal Baths and the heights of Sidi Bu Said. The pretty village of Sidi Bou Said sits perched on a headland, wreathed in flowers. Alicante
Alicante is located on Spain's Costa Blanca in the Levant Region, along the country's southeastern coast and is a tourist resort and commercial port. Palma
The old city is beautifully situated in the middle of the broad sweep of Palma Bay, with modern developments to the east and west. There are many beautiful palaces and churches in the city, many of which were built from the profits of commerce. The trip from Palma to Puerto Soller by special train is highly recommended, as is a trip to the Formentor Peninsula at the island's north-eastern tip. This area is famous for its pinewoods and secluded covers, and for the more inquisitive visitor, there are plenty of half-hidden bays, and mountain villages to be discovered.
