Sea Princess Cruise Review

6th October 2007 – 7 night Iberian Cruise - Emily

After a long but comfortable Eavesway Coach ride from Glasgow, we arrived at the docks in Southampton at about 2pm.  My partner, Luke, and I joined a swift moving queue and were quickly through security and on board.

We had an inside cabin which was ample for us and we were soon greeted by our luggage waiting outside our door.

Being only 22 and 24 years old we might not be classed as typical cruise clientèle.  However you do not need to be older to understand the value for money, choice of destinations and comfort of travel that cruising offers.  This was my 10th Cruise and Lukes 2nd.

We visited Vigo, Lisbon, Bilbao and Brest.  Lisbon and Brest were our favorite destinations.  We were lucky to get some excellent weather and sunshine for the duration and the Bay of Biscay was very calm also.

On the Sea Princess itself every day we had something to do.  Daily quizzes, games, competitions were detailed in the “Princess Patter” (Daily Magazine).  The evening entertainment was excellent – magicians, illusionists, comedians, country western nights, pianists, bands and string quartets.  Luke enjoyed the jacuzzi every day along with basketball shoot outs, ping pong tournaments, golf putting and the big football match on the Movies Under The Stars screen.  I preferred the spa (every day there were specials on treatments) and absorbing as much sunlight as possible after the summer we never had!!

We both loved the food.  We had buffet breakfasts, poolside lunches, sit down dinners and midnight pizzas!  The choice and quality was excellent and knowing that its all paid for is a great feeling.  The formal nights always added something special to the atmosphere, we enjoy dressing up and bought some really nice formal portraits – something we would never do at home. 

The Captains Welcome Party and the Champagne Waterfall were enjoyed by all on board and quite lively, although the karaoke was probably the worst I have ever heard!

Our other favorite past time was the Casino!  We had gaming lessons and entered slot and roulette tournaments – no big winnings to tell home about but no losses either so lots of fun all round.

We had such a good time aboard Sea Princess, and are looking for our next cruise deal for next year!
