Liberty of the Seas Cruise Review

Offical Launch, April 2007 - Karen & Rhiannon

Rhiannon & KarenWe visited Liberty of the Seas, sister ship to popular Freedom of the Seas for her official launch, she is absolutely huge with 15 decks of activity and entertainment onboard.

Karen and I were fortunate to have a balcony stateroom, the balcony was of a good size and the stateroom spacious, well decorated with modern flat screen tv's.

Being one of most important aspects of any cruise, it wasn't long before we were thinking of what delights we would have to eat. The choice of dining options onboard is incredible, you can enjoy elegant and formal dining in the main dining room, Speciality dining in the Portofino's or Chopps Grille (small supplement) and more casual options in the Windjammer Cafe, Sorrento's Pizzeria, Johnny Rockets or alfresco dining  in the Sea View Cafe. If that isn't enough – 24hour complimentary room service is available.

Once unpacked we headed straight to the Windjammer Cafe on Deck 12. In my opinion the best buffet at sea. Great selection and incredible views!

After lunch and with so much to see onboard we started our self guided tour.  Karen was keen to see the children's facilities, so we headed for the H20 Zone on the pool deck – a fabulous kid's pool area, brightly coloured with fountains and water cannons. Then to see the Kid's club – Adventure Ocean. A great programme which ensures children are never bored. Ages 6 months to 17 years catered for. Aqua Babies and Aqua Tots for babies and infants. Aquanauts (3-5years) can enjoy dressing up, talent shows, play dough. Explorers (6 -8 years) activities include sports tournaments, adventure science, ice cream parties. Voyager  (9-11years) movie nights, board games, Navigators (12-14 years) designed for young teens, pool parties and games and Guests (15-17 years) can enjoy hanging out in the Living Room juice bar or partying in the teen nightclub.

Sea Princess

For the ship shape, there is a great fitness centre onboard with the latest classes from kickboxing to yoga. To relax the beautiful Spa, a tranquil environment to re-juvenate and energise the body.

A show we didn't want to miss was The Ice show, it started at 5pm and was spectacular!

Afterwards, we headed back to the cabin to get ready for the exciting night ahead.

Dinner was arranged for 19:30 with our Royal Caribbean representative Andrew in the formal dining room. The meal was beautifully prepared and presented. Afterwards we headed to the Sky Deck to watch a magnificent fire work display.

With so much more to see we headed for the Promenade deck, a street onboard with shops, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, Sorrento's Pizzeria and wine bar. Liberty has 21 bars onboard, so we made our way to try a few. Our favourite was the Bolero's Latin themed bar – great Mojito's!

Liberty of the Seas  is a wonderful ship, perfect for all ages. We loved the larger ship experience and will definitely be onboard for our own holiday!
