Crystal Symphony Cruise Review

Ship Visit, May 2006 - Karen & Ali

Crystal SymphonyAli and I were privileged to spend a day onboard the beautiful Crystal Symphony when she was berthed at the Port of South Queensferry.

On arrival we were immediately in awe of Symphony’s size. Here are some of the facts: Guest Capacity 970, Per Guest Staff Ratio 0.57, Gross Ton 51000.

Symphony is extremely spacious with almost half the guest capacity of other ships of her size, offering the facilities and choice of a mid sized ship to the more discerning client.

As girls who get very excited about food the dining options really did impress us. Again the concept of choice being key.

The main dining room operates the traditional 1st and 2nd dining options. We dined in Prego. The meal was amazing and service fantastic.

- Lobster Polpette
- Prego's Signature cream Soup of Selected Italian Mushrooms
- Pumpkin Ravioli
- Roasted Rack of Lamb with Fresh Herbs
- Pan Fried Fresh Red Snapper Livornese Style
- Ricotta crème Brulee

Crystal Stateroom

Everything was beautifully presented and Kim Birk the Prego Chef did a wonderful job.

The reason we need to go back on this ship must be to dine in the other speciality restaurants. We were able to have a look in and met a couple who said that they had cruised extensively and that  Crystal had the best restaurants at sea. Quite an accolade.

The Staterooms were very impressive. We were fortunate to see the Penthouse Suite with veranda. The living area was spacious with a dining area if you wish to entertain or have diner in your cabin there is ample room. On arrival in your room there is a bottle of Champagne and a bottle of both white and red wine these are not replenished during the cruise. However soft drinks beer and water are complimentary which you butler will be happy to help you with. We loved the walk in closet and full jacuzzi bath.

It was so interesting to encounter Symphony and we were glad to experience what Crystal has to offer.
